Today we reported, Apple Inc. released the Gold Master version of iOS 4.2 to registered developers. At the moment, we were not sure as to what exactly was new. After some investigation, however, we’ve learned that iOS 4.2 GM includes a few new subtle features such as a new multitasking bar and MobileMe login.

- Multitasking Bar — As you can see in the image above, the new multitasking bar for the iPad includes volume and brightness controls as well as a new AirPlay button next to the playback buttons.
- MobileMe Login — Firs discovered by tech companaccount,Apple,Apple ID,bard, features,GM,iOS 4.2,ipad,loging,mobileme,multitasking,setupy from Southern California, the MobileMe setup section in iOS now asks for an Apple ID instead of the MobileMe credentials that have been used up until now. It appears that Apple is either linking Apple IDs and MobileMe accounts or the company will allow Apple ID holders to access some of the MobileMe features. We’re inclining toward the former. Unfortunately, Apple IDs don’t seem to work quite yet.
There you have it, folks. We can expect Apple to release iOS 4.2 to the general public in no time. We’ll be sure to report as soon as the company makes an official announcement. Stay tuned.
