iPhone Dev Team Release Unlock iPhone 3G,3GS

It was just on Thanksgiving morning that we reported about the iPhone Dev Team releasing an unlock for iPhone 3G/3GS (all basebands). The original Tweet sent out by unofficial Dev Team ‘spokesman’ MuscleNerd read the following:

Good progress today…everything is on track for updated ultrasn0w by Sunday/Funday at the latest (longer for iPhone4!)

What’s interesting and notable here is that the Tweet doesn’t specifically set Sunday as a concrete date, as we originally reported yesterday. The keywords here are: “at the latest.” What that means is that the unlock could be released before Sunday. MuscleNerd transmitted a Tweet just minutes ago [as of this writing] asking users to not wait out for the update today, but fails to mention if they should wait until Sunday.

We felt it was appropriate to clear that up, as our previous post was slightly misleading.
