Google Inc. announced recently on the Official Google Docs Blog the introduction of a brand spanking new Chart Editor to Google Docs. As suggested by the name, the Chart Editor — which has been built from scratch — allows Google Docs users to easily create and edit charts. The tool actually goes on the extra mile to suggest to individuals the type of chart they should use to visualize their data. It also automatically matches data, selects colors, and offers a full-size preview pane.

Additionally, the company has added a series of new chart types such as annotated time-lines, organizational charts, gauges, motion charts, and more. The company has also improved existing charts by adding a refreshed color palette, improved layout, and new customization options.
Lastly, Google has made it possible to easily publish interactive motion charts to pretty much any webpage. The best part is that all the changes made to a certain spreadsheet will be synced to the embedded chart. To check out the new Google Docs charts, visit goo.gl/newcharts.
