It was certain to happen. When you give folks your trust, they go ahead and take advantage of it. That’s exactly what one user did, uploading a fake application — though unclear as to whether or not it was malware — branding it with the TweetDeck name.
Needless to say, the upload seemingly caused TweetDeck to panic, with the company sending out the following Tweet:
“Someone has uploaded a “TweetDeck” app to the Android Market and it charging for it. THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL APP. Do NOT download.”
As of this point, the application appears to no longer reside on the Market, making it a pleasant day for you and me.
