While speaking today at the FORTUNE Brainstorm Tech 2010 conference in Aspen, Colorado, HP Executive Vice President of Personal Systems Group Todd Bradley revealed that the Windows 7-powered HP Slate 500 will be “more customer-specific than broadly deployed.” Additionally, he stated that the tablet is going to be released in the Fall “for the enterprise.”
Just yesterday, HP released a statement confirming the existence of the HP Slate. However, the company made it clear that that it was in “customer evaluations.” It now appears that the HP Slate will be mostly, if not completely, focused on enterprise. On the other hand, webOS tablets by HP will probably be more consumer-friendly.
HP has yet to reveal an official release date for the HP Slate 500. We’ll be sure to update as soon as the company makes an announcement. Stay tuned.
