According to Twitter co-founder Biz Stone, microblogging service Twitter is now handling upwards of 800 million search queries on a daily basis. The figure is up 33 percent from April, when it was announced that the service was handling a significantly lower figure of 600 million search queries daily. That means that over 24 billion search queries are being handled (give or take) each month and twitter already have 10 billion tweets twitter hits.
It’s no surprise, either. Scores of users — even those who do not have a Twitter account — use the website’s search feature to find out what’s going on in real time.
Soon, the website could surpass over one billion search queries on a daily basis, as the service becomes more widely adopted throughout the world.
