Today’s date for some only means one thing only: the beginning of iPhone 4 pre-ordering. Apple’s expected to take thousands upon thousands of pre-orders for the highly-anticipated follow-up to the iPhone 3GS — which we’ve talked about in-depth here.
AT&T is feeling generous this year, allowing any customer with a contract ending this year to get discounted pricing for the device — a drastic improvement over last year’s upgrade policy that outraged many Apple fans.
Unfortunately, it appears that Apple will not allow third-party retailers such as Radio Shack and Best Buy to accept pre-orders anymore. Also take into account that Apple might only ship black iPhone 4 smartphones at launch. We’re still waiting for official comment on the matter.
By the way if you are planning to go for the older iPhone 3GS, you can get the 8GB model with iOS 4.0 for just $99 and it also will be delivered on June 24th.
