Viigo is excited to announce that our company is now part of Research In Motion (RIM).
Our team has joined RIM’s global organization and will continue to bring our expertise in BlackBerry® application development and real-time content delivery to the BlackBerry platform. The Viigo for BlackBerry app will also continue to be available for download through BlackBerry App World™.
We have just learned that RSS reader for BlackBerry smartphones, Viigo, is now part of Research In Motion. Viigo CEO Mark Ruddock recently announced in a blog post that they are joining Research In Motion. While we are not completely 100% clear what Ruddock means, we can only assume his company has been quietly acquired by RIM. Though he does not mention the word acquisition at all. Details are pretty scarce at this moment.
The move is pretty surprising, considering there were not any signs leading to this acquisition. Ruddock states that they will continue to work with Research In Motion to develop a much better product for the BlackBerry platform. We can’t wait to see what RIM and Viigo together come up with. We will try to find out more information regarding this matter, and update as soon as we learn anything new.
