Google introducing new version of Google Doc and Spreadsheets. The company states that as of yesterday, the new version of Google Docs has already began rolling out. It should take a couple of weeks before all users are able to see the new documents editor. Google also states that documents created with the old editor will remain where they currently are. The company promises to release more information on how to move those documents to the new version.
According to Google, the new Google documents features “faster real-time collaboration, better imports, and more control over your document’s layout.” Additionally, the company has added “a table of contents, a special characters dialog, a dictionary, search as-you-type, and re-sizable images” to the editor.
Now, when it comes to Spreadsheets, Google indicates that the new version was made available to everyone yesterday. New features include “formula highlighting, sheet dragging, sheet menu, faster scrolling, an editable formula bar, and autocomplete in cells, copy sheet from one spreadsheet to another and range sorting.”
The old version of Spreadsheets will be available for a few more weeks. Users who wish to use GoogleLookup or Spreadsheet Gadgets, may do so by clicking on the “Old version” link in the top right of any spreadsheet. Those two features will be soon added to the new version of Spreadsheets soon.
