Google has gone ahead and released the latest Beta version of the Google Chrome-Version 3.0.195.4 with claims that the new Google Chrome is 30% faster than the previous builds. This incredible improvement has also been confirmed by the benchmark tests so there isn’t much doubting the claim. Other than the speed improvements, some customization improvements have also been added to the tab page.
The display has also been tweaked in the omnibox and there are some basic HTML5 additions to go with 29 different themes.
Despite all these improvements, what Google still needs to assess is where it stands in comparison with the likes of the Mozilla Firefox. It is the ability to cater to every individual user in a different way with all those addons that makes Firefox special.
Firefox is fast gobbling the Internet Explorer share as well as the share of the other browsers because of these special traits, and the faster Google realizes this, the better it will get with its beta versions.
Matching Firefox at the moment is like a mountain to climb with no great safety equipment intact. It is better that Google first looks for that safety kit and then endeavors to climb. [via]
