You may or may not have hear of this week’s hacking of Gawker assets (we did not report on this). There’s your first sign things in internet security aren’t going well this week. As of Monday, December 13th, McDonalds reported that their email database had been compromised by hackers.
Sensitive information such as credit card numbers and home addresses were not compromised, however, dates of birth and email addresses were obtained by hackers. No word as to how many users’ have been affected.
“The incident has resulted in an investigation by law enforcement authorities. Arc [McDonalds’ database management firm] and McDonald’s are cooperating with the appropriate authorities,” said a company spokesperson.
