Android 2.2 (Froyo) Rolling Out for HTC Droid Incredible on August 18

Verizon Wireless will begin rolling out Android 2.2, also known as Froyo, for the popular HTC Droid Incredible on Wednesday, August 18. The update will be made available over the air [OTA], according to Mashable, who claims to have received the information from their sources.

The update is reportedly ready to roll out, considering that several Verizon Wireless employees have already installed Android 2.2 on their HTC Droid Incredible smartphones.

The HTC Droid Incredible will officially become the third Android-powered smartphone to run Android 2.2 (Froyo) after the original Motorola Droid, whose update began rolling out last week, and the newly-released Motorola Droid 2, which was made available with Android 2.2 already pre-installed.
