it’s no surprise that the projected September 1st launch date of Android 2.2 Froyo for the HTC Droid Incredible is a crock, but if you quite simply cannot wait for the official update, a leaked build of Froyo has made its debut, according to Droid-Life.

No official word as to whether or not the build is legit, as most entities still appear to either be downloading or flashing this to their devices.

If you care to give it a shot and download the build, you may follow this link. Instructions on how to get this working are available on the XDA Developers forums; here’s the link.

Let us know how it goes!

Update: Android 2.2 Froyo for the HTC Droid Incredible will begin rolling out on Friday, August 27. So you might want to hold on. More information here.
