We knew that webOS 1.4.5 would be rolled out one of these days. Well, the day has finally here. webOS 1.4.5 is reportedly rolling out to Palm Pre and Palm Pixi smartphones on Spring here in the U.S. along with several other carriers around the world today.
The update promises to improve the browser and the overall OS security. However, one major feature is the introduction of final PDK [Plug-In Development Kit] support, which basically allows developers to port their C/C++ applications to webOS. This will be the very first time that the Palm Pixi receives PDK support.
At this point, it’s currently unknown when the update will be released to the Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus on Verizon Wireless and AT&T. A delay of several weeks is rumored, but we can’t confirm this at this time. We will report as soon as the update goes live to Palm devices on either Verizon Wireless or AT&T.
