Motorola announced today its financial earnings for the second quarter of 2010, which ended on July 3 of this year. The company reports net sales of $5.4 billion. That’s slightly lower than what the company reported during the same three-month period last year. Additionally, Motorola indicates earnings were up to $162 million, or $0.07 per share. In comparison, the company reported earnings of earnings of $26 million, or $0.01 per share, back in Q2 2009.
According to Motorola, 8.3 million handsets were shipped during the quarter, 2.7 million of which were smartphones. Total sales of mobile devices made $1.7 billion in revenue. That’s a 6% decrease from the same period last year.. The mobile division also saw GAAP operating earnings of $87 million, which included a legal settlement of $228 million.
