Last Friday, Apple held an emergency conference at its Cupertino headquarters to “address” the iPhone 4 antenna issue. The company shamelessly began pointing fingers, stating that other smartphones such as the the BlackBerry Bold 9700, HTC Droid Eris, and the Samsung Omnia II also experience attenuation and signal loss when gripped. Shortly after the conference was over, Apple launched a new resource section on its website dedicated to the antenna performance on the new iPhone 4 along with the aforementioned smartphones.
Earlier this week, Apple added the Nokia N97 mini to its “Smartphone Antenna Performance” page, after Espoo, Finland-based Nokia released a statement indicating that they “prioritize antenna performance over physical design.”
