Newly-acquired AdMob announced today on its blog — The Life and Times of AdMob — the availability of its new iPad App SDK to developers and ad publishers. The SDK is aimed to help developers integrate AdMob ads into their native applications. The company states that the SDK will support two types of ads on the iPad — text & tile and image ads [pictured].
AdMob explains:
“Our new SDK is unified across all devices running the iPhone OS, which means that developers can download one binary for development across all Apple iPhone OS devices – iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. AdMob’s unified iPhone SDK makes it easier for developers to quickly integrate our code and start monetizing their applications.”
The company went on to say that they are currently experimenting with “iPad ads using HTML5.” As we all know, the upcoming iAds platform will be based on HTML5 only, so it makes sense for AdMob to follow suit. The company has put together a sneak preview of its future HTML5-based ads for iPad.
