We told you moments ago about the release of the iPhone OS 4 SDK Beta 3 and now have some proof that iPhone OS 4 will include “widget style” stationary apps via the new multitasking UI.
Our friends at 9to5mac have found an interesting new panel of widget style app/buttons located within the multitasking UI (image above). You navigate to these apps by simply swiping left from the first window of open apps.
The app to the far right is obviously a stationary iPod app for quick launching. In the middle appear to be stationary iPod control buttons ( that could possibly be used to control other things as well). To the far left is an orientation lock, the same feature as on the iPad but implemented in this new UI.
Could this be the beginning of widget style apps on the iPhone and other iDevices. We will keep you updated on any new findings in the latest release of the iPhone OS 4 SDK beta 3.
