What is TidyTweet?
TidyTweet is a real-time tool that allows companies to syndicate Twitter (Twitter) content on their website or blog free from inappropriate language, users, and content.
enius Idea: As we highlighted (yet again) this morning, spam is an ongoing problem in Twitter search, as unscrupulous marketers look to take advantage of trending topics and other popular terms with their shady links. While this hurts the usefulness of Twitter search for all users, it also creates a problem for those that would like to syndicate tweets for a given topic on their own website. TidyTweet is a new service offering a solution, letting you both clean up the search results for a given term and embed them elsewhere.
TidyTweet, which is currently in private beta, is designed around creating and managing feeds. For example, I created a feed for “Bruno,” the movie premiering this weekend that is currently a trending topic and a target of the spam we highlighted this morning. Here’s how I customized the feed:
Search phrase: Bruno
Words to reject: downloads, online, “watch online”
Reject newly created accounts: I set this to reject any tweets from users who have created a new Twitter account within the last 48 hours. You can set it all the way up to 72 hours, or, accept tweets from everyone in your feed.
Reject tweets with multiple trending topics: I set this to reject any tweets including 2 or more trending topics in them. You can disable this option, or, customizing the rejection level between 1 and 4 trending topics.
