Few weeks ago Opera has released Opera for Mac and Opera 10.5 for Windows So, now its the turn for Linux OS users as Opera 10.53 for Linux is available now.
Opera released the new version of their browser Opera 10.53 for Linux and FreeBSD variants today. Boasted to be the fastest and feature rich Linux browser, Opera 10.53 beta promise a better KDE and Gnome desktop integration.
Jon von Tetzchner, co-founder, Opera Software after releasing said:
“Linux has always been a priority at Opera, as many people within our own walls are devoted users. It was important for us in this release to make alterations to our terms of usage, in order to make Opera even easier to distribute on Linux.”
As per the new End User License agreement ( EULA ), all the Opera browser variants will now get maximum exposure as the schools and institutions are now licensed to install Opera on distribution repositories.
The notable features are Turbo-charged browsing, private browsing, faster JS engine and graphics library etc.
Features of Opera 10.53 Beta are :
- New Carakan JavaScript engine and Vega graphics library makes Opera 10.5x more than 8 times faster.
- Private browsing leaving no trace .
- Zooming in and out of Web pages is easier with a new zoom slider and view controls.
- Widgets are now installed as normal applications on your computer.
- User interface for Linux has been reworked to get an elegant look and feel now.
- Opera’s user interface now integrates with either GNOME/GTK or KDE libraries.
- Turbo-charged browsing.
