Garmin-Asus today announced the nuvifone A50, an Android powered smartphone with Garmin’s voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation. The A50 is powered by Android 1.6 with Garmin-Asus’ custom Breeze user interface.
The device comes equipped with a large 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touch screen, 4GB of internal storage that can be upgraded through its microSD card slot, and a high-sensitivity GPS receiver for location based services. Other features include 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and a Qualcomm 7227 ARM 11 processor clocked at 600MHz. It also comes with its own car mount and has cityXplorer maps installed for assistance using public transit in foreign cities.
The nuvifone A50 will be available in Europe during the first half of 2010 but pricing has not yet been announced.
