Google announced today on the YouTube Blog the introduction of its new You Choose 2010 Campaign Toolkit and Google Campaign Toolkit for politicians. Both toolkits are designed to help politicians get their message across using various Google products and services. As many of you might be aware, politicians are nowadays are utilizing online media to run their political campaigns. For instance, President Barack Obama has successfully made use of YouTube to run his campaign as a candidate and address the nation as president.
Google explains:
“On YouTube, campaigns will have access to features like a Politician channel (which allows campaigns to brand their channel and upload longer videos), Google Moderator, our free analytics tool YouTube Insight, and information about running paid advertising campaigns—using formats like in-stream ads and Promoted Videos—to reach viewers with political ads, just like on TV. And our Google toolkit demonstrates how Google Apps can keep staff and volunteers connected, how search ads can grow your email list and provides other helpful tools.”
Both toolkits will definitely help not only politicians and running candidates during upcoming elections, but the general public as well by keeping them informed of their favorite candidates’ political agenda. Additionally, politicians will be able to interact with the public and reach more individuals, specially with the YouTube toolkit.
