Certainly a reflection of just how poorly Palm’s Pixi smartphone is selling, Sprint is now offering the device absolutely free, according to their website. The offer is apparently only available on the web, allowing consumers to save nearly $150 dollars on the purchase of the new phone. Of course, subscribers will be required to sign two years of their mobile life with the carrier to get the device free of charge.
Meanwhile, Sprint continues to sell the Pixi’s sibling — the Palm Pre — for a whopping $150 with a two year agreement, though we wouldn’t at all be surprised if the Pre’s price will be slashed some time in the near future.
