If you’re planning to purchase an iPad, hold off a bit and wait for a few more days. Initially, All Things D has reported that Apple holds a press event on March 2, 2011 where company will unveil the next generation of iPad, probably named iPad 2 with more enhancements as compare to the first generation iPad.
The New York Times also posted a similar report, citing from an unnamed source:
In an article about iPads in the enterprise published on Monday, we reported that Apple plans to unveil a new iPad as soon as next month. Now people with knowledge of the matter say that Apple will host an event on Wednesday, March 2 to showcase its new iPad. The people agreed to speak on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss Apple’s product plans. Reporters and other guests are likely to receive invitations in the next couple of days.
This is expected that the iPad 2 will be more thinner and some other expected features of iPad 2 are: improved processing power, better screen, increased memory, front-facing camera for FaceTime video chat, support for GSM and CDMA based etc.
Update: Now it is reported by the Loop that they have received Apple’s invitation for the March 2nd event which will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts at 10:00 am, with the tagline “Come see what 2011 will be the year of.”
