Microsoft Corp. announced today on The Windows Blog the introduction of version 8 of its popular Messenger for Mac OS X. Up until today, Messenger 8 for Mac has been in Beta. However, the stable version of the application became available to all today.
According to Microsoft, Messenger 8 for Mac will become part of the upcoming Office for Mac 2011 suite of productivity. Unfortunately, Messenger 8 for Mac will not include many of the features found on its Windows counterpart such as games or social feeds due to the fact that the Mac version is more focused on productivity than anything else.
Messenger 8 for Mac will feature video chat and real-time collaboration though. Users can easily chat with their Windows Live Messenger contacts.
