Great news, everyone! Just five days after Limera1n was made available for Windows, George “GeoHot” Hotz has officially released a version of the jailbreak for Mac users. Just as its Windows counterpart, Limera1n for Mac can jailbreak devices with iOS 3.2.2, iOS 4.0, iOS 4.0.1, iOS 4.0.2, and iOS 4.1, including the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G/4G, and the iPad.
As we’ve learned before, Limera1n is said to be unpatchable. Mac OS X users can now jailbreak their iDevices without having to use a Windows-powered computer.Unfortunately, Limera1n is still not yet available for Linux. However, we can expect GeoHot to make the tool available for Linux soon.
