Just as Google promised last week, the Google Maps application for BlackBerry has been quietly update to version 4.4. Similar to its Android counterpart, the new version of Google Maps for BlackBerry now includes the Google Places feature, which offers more details about certain establishments such as business hours and reviews. According to the official changelog, the application now automatically expands the search results list when it is scrolled. We’re pretty sure that some minor background improvements and enhancements have been also included.
Unlike previous updates, Google Maps for BlackBerry 4.4 is not yet available at m.google.com/maps. Instead, users can download the new version over-the-air [OTA] by visiting m.google.com/maps/download/maps.jad?dc=gorganic&ver=4.4.0 from their BlackBerry devices.
