Last Month ON&E BLOG reported that Luxembourg-based Skype Limited made available a beta of the Skype software development kit [SDK] dubbed “SkypeKit.” At the time, only a Linux version of SkypeKit Beta was released. However, the company announced today on the Skype Developer Blog that the Mac and Windows version of the SkypeKit Beta has become available today.
The release of the SkypeKit Beta for Windows [x86] and Mac OS X marks a big milestone for the Skype application. End-users will be benefited the most, as they will be able to access Skype from a number of different applications created by developers and still enjoy text, video, and voice conversations. There will be no need to download the Skype software separately.
Just as with the Linux version of the SkypeKit Beta, interested developers can visit the new Skype developer portal at developer.skype.com/signup to request an invitation to the beta program.
