WordPress 3.0 is released and having lot many new features. One of them is to “Generate Short URL” within no time on your own domain. Few months ago, a short URL button was added on WordPress.com sites for wp.me URLs, and now the same looking button is added in self hosted WordPress as well. The only difference here is that you can generate short URL of your post on your own domain. Short URL generated out of WordPress Dashboard is having Post ID as part of the URL. If you have not updated your WordPress setup yet, then also you can use the same looking short URL for your posts. You just need to get the Post ID of the post and create a URL like “yourdomain.com/?p=post_id”. This newly added button in WordPress 3.0 will give you same kind of URL for the post.
