Up until now to be able to user Google Docs, users were required to either have an existing Google account or sign-up for one. This could be a bit discouraging to anyone just willing to preview the service before anything. This also made it a bit difficult for anyone to explain the services to individuals they know.
Luckily, Google has introduced a demo version of Google Docs. The best part is that users don’t need to have a Google account to try it out. Just as the real product, the demo version allows two or more individuals to work collaboratively in real-time. Users can try the full versions of word processor, spreadsheet, and drawing. Best part is that it’s free, and all users involved don’t need a Google account.
The demo version is available at docs.google.com/demo. Once on the website, there will be a link displayed on the top right corner. You can use that link to collaboratively edit the same document with someone you know in real-time. Documents created on the demo version of Google Docs will be available for 24 hours only, enough time to let anyone get familiar with the service.
Great move by Google. This is something that was definitely long overdue. We believe it will attract many folks.
