Well, well, well. It appears as if the closest relative to the Nexus One — the HTC Desire — might be receiving the official update to Android 2.2 [Froyo] as soon as June 23. The information allegedly comes from an HTC customer service representative. You see a “Senior Member” over at the XDA-Developers Forum claims that he called HTC Customer Service to complain about the inability to install applications on the SD Card. The representative insisted that there was nothing he could do at the moment.
However, the customer kept complaining about, so he was told to hold for a moment. When the representative got back, he allegedly told the customer the following:
“”I have had a chat with my superviser and she said theres nothing you can do…. But you never heard this from me…. A new update is coming the 23rd of june and you will be able to put some apps on to the micro sd card.”
Now, bear in mind that we can’t verify the legitimacy of this storey. It’s almost next to impossible. That’s why we recommend HTC Desire owners to not get their hopes up. The good thing is that we won’t have to wait too long to find out. The bad thing is that if this is not true, many HTC Desire users will be disappointed on June 23.
Let us know whether you think this is true or not.
