According to Microsoft Windows 7 RTM is expected in the 2nd half of July. Here is a precise information about Windows 7 RTM availability, which depends on the user type. Read bellow to get further details.
Partners & OEMs
On August 6th Windows 7 RTM will be available for ISV (Independent software vendor) and IHV (Independent hardware vendor) Partners and they could download Windows 7 RTM from Microsoft Connect or MSDN platforms.
Business Customers
Volume License (VL) customer who have Software Assurance (SA) license will download Windows 7 RTM in English on August 7 from the Volume License Service Center (VLSC). After some weeks Windows 7 RTM will be available in other languages.
IT Professionals
From August 6, IT Professionals with TechNet subscriptions will be able to download English version of Windows 7 RTM and remaining languages by October 1st.
Developers
Developers with MSDN subscriptions will be able to download English version of Windows 7 RTM on 6th August whereas it’ll be available in other languages by October 1st.
Beta Testers
Microsoft offered special pre-order of Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Professional at 50% discount which is closed now. Beta testers will not automatically receive a free copy of Windows 7.
General Availability
Windows 7 for general public will be available from 22 October. On the same day retailers and OEMs will offer copies of Windows 7 and new systems preloaded with Windows 7.
