Apple Inc. has apparently begun rolling out 90-second song previews on iTunes. Unfortunately, only select songs such as “The Time [Dirty Bit]“ by The Black Eyed Peas, “Dark Fantasy” by Kanye West, and certain Beatles’ songs include the 90-second previews. In addition, the feature seems to be available in the U.S. version of the United States only as of this writing.
As Apple has made it known before, the 90-second previews will only apply to songs longer than 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Those songs that do not meet the minimum requirement will still feature the same old 30-second previews.
Right this is not clear, that what regions of the world will get access to 90 seconds iTunes preview as UK version is still on 30 seconds iTunes song preview.
Back in November of this year, Apple sent an official letter to Label Representatives to inform them of its plans to increase the length of certain song previews from 30 seconds to 90 seconds.
We currently don’t know whether the 90-second previews will go live on the international versions of iTunes. Let us know in the comments if you’ve found other songs with 90-second previews. We’ll update as soon as more information becomes available.
