This morning, Apple finally admitted that its newest iPhone 4 does have issues interpreting the reception signal. The issue was attributed to a bug, which makes the coverage look stronger than it actually is. The company has promised to release an update in the coming weeks to fix the problem.
Additionally, the company stated that unsatisfied users “can return [their] undamaged iPhone to any Apple Retail Store or the online Apple Store within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.” Now, according to ComputerWorld, an AppleCare support representative by the name of Erica has confirmed that the company is waiving its 10% restocking fee on all iPhone 4 returns.
Usually, Apple charges $19.90 when a 16GB iPhone 4 model is returned, and $29.90 for the 32GB version of the iPhone 4.
It’s important to take into account that the 10% return fee has been made part of the class-action lawsuit recently filed against the Cupertino-based company over the iPhone 4 reception issues. The suspension of such fee is definitely a welcome addition to newly-iPhone 4 owners fed up with the signal problems, no matter what the reason behind the return fee drop is.
