Just hours after the HTC EVO 4G officially made its big debut, we’re learning that Sprint has already released an OTA [over-the-air] update for the device. The update is said to be pretty small, and it has just being issued to fix some issues reported earlier today with the microSD card.
According to Sprint:
“Customers can immediately install the update manually by going to >Settings > System Updates > HTC software update on the EVO, then following the instructions as prompted.”
Unfortunately, it appears that this tiny update does more than to fix microSD card issues. The update reportedly blocks the HTC EVO 4G rooting, a method which was just released yesterday. Let us know how the upgrade process goes for you and your awesome new EVO 4G.
