With the iPhone 4 keynote at WWDC 10 come and gone, we not-surprisingly heard absolutely nothing about an iPhone 4 for Verizon Wireless’ network. True it is that many Verizon customers are eagerly awaiting the device, and DigiTimes has published a report noting that an iPhone 4 could very well be coming to Verizon (or Sprint, also a CDMA-based network) in the fourth quarter of 2010.
“Pegatron will also start shipping a CDMA version of the iPhone 4 to Apple in the fourth quarter and is currently using its plants in Shanghai,” writes Joseph Tsai.
That would likely mean that new iPhones for Verizon (again, or Sprint) could be announced alongside Apple’s iPod event in September, perhaps along with iOS 4 for iPad.
More information to come.
